Line Perpendicular to a plane

This picture of an oil rig represents a line perpendicular to a plane. The platform is the plane and the perpendicular line is the drill (circled in green). This line is perpendicular to a plane because the line is perpendicular to every line it intersects. This oil rig is used  to drill and then produce oil and natural gas in the ocean. The oil is used in Transportation Fuels (Gasoline, Diesel, Jet Fuel), Asphalt, Fertilizer, Heating, Feedstock, and Plastics.
